    Head downtown Rhinelander for an afternoon of trick or treating!  Visit the local businesses with pumpkins in the window and have a safe, family, friendly Halloween Afternoon.

    After your trick or treating fun make sure you walk or drive by and see all the pumpkins aglow in the 2nd annual Pumpkin Glow. More than 100 pumpkins (maybe 200) will be lit in the big green space in front of Trigs 5:30-9:00 p.m.

  • Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting

    Help kick off the holiday season with our annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Black Friday.  The parade will begin at 5pm and run from the Police Department on Brown Street to Stevensport Square.  Following the parade join in for some caroling and then help us light the tree!  Santa will also be available for visiting with the children.

  • Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn

    Join us for the 29th annual Art Fair on the Courthouse Lawn.  The event includes over 100 arts and crafts vendors, kids activities, plenty of food and entertainment.

    We have plenty of room for vendors in the show and we want you to participate!  We just need your application and payment plus a few photos of your items and showing yourself creating them.

    Applications will be posted in Spring 2015.

    The Hodag Home Show is the first home show in the Northwoods and you don’t want to miss it!  From construction companies, to plumbing and heating, to financial services and more businesses in the Northwoods will gather for a weekend that will help you line up all you need for your spring and summer projects!

    The Hodag Home Show will be held at Rhinelander High School from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

    Join us as we look back on 2014 and celebrate the accomplishments of our members and the Chamber.  We will award Community Volunteer of the Year, Retail Business of the Year, Tourism & Convention Business of the Year, and Business, Professional & Industrial Business of the Year.  Nominations for these awards are now being accepted.

    This fun, family friendly experience is for walkers, runners, and people of all ages, shapes and sizes. The dash is not timed – it’s more about sharing memories, laughing, and getting colored like a bag of SkittlesThe dash will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Wisconsin, and money raised will fund matches between Northwoods ‘Bigs’ and ‘Littles’!

    So, invite your family and friends to run – or volunteer to be a Dasher Splasher, Registration Jedi, Trash-Cleaning Ninja, or Water-Station Guru!

    Join us for the Second Annual PotatoFest in downtown Rhinelander! The festival is a spud-filled day of activities such as a parade, a French Fry Frenzy, the YMCA Couch Potato Race, Lit’l Miss and Lit’l Mr. Tator Tot Potato Sack Outfit Contest, a potato salad cook-off and so much more. There is a historic and education component, food vendors and live music throughout the afternoon into the evening providing entertainment for all ages.

  • Rhinelander Lion’s Club Fisheree & Winter Festival

    This annual ice fishing tournament will once again include activities for the entire family!  Fishing will be from 7am to 3pm both days.  Tons of great prizes, raffles and of course the famous paddle wheel will be held.  Other activities include the broomball tournament on Saturday February 8th and Hodag Snow Dash Snowshoe race on Sunday February 9th.  More details to come as we get closer to the event!

  • Fairway to Food

    Join us for a great afternoon of golfing to help benefit Northwoods Area Food Pantries.  This 18 hole, scramble format, golf outing will be held on Tuesday August 13th at Northwood Golf Course.  The shotgun start will be at 12pm and the cost per player is $80.  All the money raised will be donated to our local area food pantries to help build a hunger free community.  Not interested in golfing but still want to help?  Join us for the dinner portion of the event following the golfing.  Tickets for just dinner are $20.  Your entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, driving range, dinner and door prizes.  There will also be a variety of raffle items up for grabs.

    The event is sponsored by K-Tech Kleening, WJFW Channel 12 and the Rhinelander Chamber.

  • 2013 4th of July Parade & Fireworks

    The 2013 Rhinelander 4th of July parade will be held on Thursday July 4th in Downtown Rhinelander at 11am.  The theme this year is “Happy Birthday Uncle Sam.”  Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the Rhinelander Chamber Office on Kemp Street or follow the link below to download a form.

    If you plan to hand out candy you must also print a copy of the Rhinelander Police Distribution form and keep it with you during the parade.

  • W.I.L.D. Hodag Mini-Triathlon

    Make plans to join us for the first annual W.I.L.D. Hodag Mini-Triathlon on Saturday August 24th, 2013.  The race will kick off at 8 AM at Holiday Acres Resort in Rhinelander.  The race includes a 300 yard swim, 10K bike portion and a 5k run.  The course will wind through the gorgeous northwoods scenery of woods and water.  Proceeds from the event will go to benefit W.I.L.D.   • Rhinelander Girlfriends Getaway

    Calling all ladies!  Join us for the first annual Rhinelander Girlfriends Getaway to be held May 3 -5, 2013.  The weekend will kick off with a Friday night reception and Taste of Rhinelander from 5pm to 9pm at the Days Inn and Suites in Downtown Rhinelander.  Saturday will be filled with your choice of various workshops, everything from fitness classes, decorating, floral design and cooking.  Class registration is on a first come first serve basis.  Sunday morning we’ll send you off with a great brunch provided by the Days Inn and Suites.

    Registration for the event is $25 plus the cost of supplies for your chosen workshops.  Many workshops are FREE!  Register by April 5, 2013.

    Registrations received after April 5, 2013 will incur a $10 late fee.  Registration for this AWESOME event closes on April 19, 2013.

    Mark your calendars for the 2013 Hodag Home Show to be held on March 23 & 24, 2013 at Rhinelander High School.  Businesses from all over the Northwoods will be on hand to talk to you about their latest and greatest products and services just in time to get your list of spring “to-do” projects ready to go.  Admission is free.  Other activities include demonstrations, door prizes, kids activities and much more.

    If you are a business in the area we want you to join us!  Businesses already signed up include contractors, utility companies, retail stores and much, much more!  Area crafters we want you to participate as well.  Thousands of people walk through the high school throughout the weekend and this is a great chance to reach out to those potential customers!

  • First Annual Ho-Drags on Ice

    First Annual Ho-drags on Ice will be held on Lake Thompson on Saturday February 23rd.  This ice drag racing event will offer several classes for cars, outlaw vehicles and trucks.  Racers are encouraged to register!  Racing will start at noon.

    Spectators – there will be a free parking and admission area on the ice, to get into the pit area there will be a charge.  $20 for car pit passes and $10 per person admission to the pits.

    The Annual Rhinelander Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will be held on Friday November 23rd at 5pm Downtown Rhinelander.  The parade will begin at the police department on Brown Street and travel to Stevensport Square where Santa will light the tree and visit with the attending children.

    New this year we’ll also have a mystery contest for those attending the celebrations in which a big prize will be awarded.  More details to come but mark your calendars to attend the fun!

  • 31st Annual Rhinelander Toyota Hodag Musky Challenge

    Congratulations to the 2012 HMC Champions Robert Petrusky and Ryan Stewart from Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin!  They were fishing on Lake George and caught two musky measuring 40 ½ inches and 42 inches to win the title.  The team took home over $4,800 in cash for their win.

    The 31st annual Rhinelander Toyota Hodag Musky Challenge was held on Friday September 7th through Sunday September 9th 2012.  72 teams registered for this annual musky fishing tournament.  In all 16 musky were caught and registered through the two days of fishing.  The largest musky of the tournament was caught by Kevin and Zach Mahlberg and measured 48 inches.  The team caught the fish on the Moen Chain.

    Here is a rundown of the full results:

    • 1st – Robert Petrusky & Ryan Stewart, fishing Lake George, caught a 40 ¼ & 42 inch musky
    • 2nd – Dave Hershey and Pat Burge, fishing Oneida Lake, caught a 40 ¾ and 40 ½ inch musky
    • 3rd – Kevin Mahlberg and Zach Mahlberg, fishing Moen Chain, caught a 48 inch musky
    • 4th – Rodney Reader and Rick Coenen, fishing Oneida Lake, caught a 45 inch musky
    • 5th Place (TIE) – Tyler Robish and Dmitry Burgan, fishing Crescent Lake, caught a 44 ½ inch musky and Darrel Mack and Cory Mack, fishing Crescent Lake, caught a 44 ½ inch musky
    • 7th Place – Rich Anderson and Lee Bastian, fishing Boom Lake, caught a 43 inch musky
    • 8th Place(TIE) – Ken Liebnitz and Rod Rodziczak, fishing Lake Julia, caught a 42 ½ inch musky and Kevin Abendroth and Scott Abendroth, fishing on Oneida Lake, caught a 42 ½ inch musky
    • 10th Place – Brock Terzinski and Travis Unverzagt, fishing Oneida Lake, caught a 42 inch musky
    • 11th Place – Jim Engman and Rick Ammons, fishing Oneida Lake, caught a 41 ¼ inch musky
    • Largest Musky of Saturday – Rodney Reader and Rick Coenen, 45 inches caught on Oneida Lake
    • Largest Musky of Sunday – Kevin Mahlberg and Zach Mahlberg, 48 inches caught on Moen Chain
    • Largest Northern of the Tournament – Dan Brekke and Mick Miller, 32 ¾ inches caught on Lake George

    Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual Hodag Block Party to be held on Saturday June 29th! We have a fun filled day planned in Rhinelander!  First, lace up your tennis shoes and take part in the Hodag Run for Your Life, hosted by the YMCA of the Northwoods.  Then make your way downtown to Davenport street and join us for the 1st Annual Hodag Block Party!  From 10am to 3pm we’ll be celebrating and having fun with a magic show, live music, carnival games, and plenty of food, drinks and fun!  So come on downtown and join us!  If you have any questions about the event give us a call, 715-365-7464.

  • Hodag Run for Your Life/Hodag Block Party

    The YMCA of the Northwoods is excited to host the sixth annual HODAG Run For Your Life 5K/10K run/walk. Pre-registration for the run/walk is $25 and can be completed until June 20th. Participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt if pre-registered! After June 20th registration is $35 and can be completed online at www.active.com until June 28th. Thereafter, registration can be completed by calling the YMCA of the Northwoods at (715) 362-9622.

    The Hodag Block Party will begin after the races are complete.  Live music, carnival games, bouncy house, plenty of food, drinks and entertainment.

  • Hodag Hops and Vines

    The 2013 Hodag Hops and Vines Beer and Wine Tasting will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013 at the Elbo Room Lounge and Ballroom.  From 4pm to 8pm.

    Tickets are now on sale for the event!  Tickets are just $20 ahead of the event so purchase them early!  To order by phone and use your credit card call the Chamber at 715-365-7464 or 1-800-236-4FUN.  You can also purchase tickets at the Chamber Office, the Rhinelander Trig’s, Northern Coffee Haus and the Elbo Room Lounge and Ballroom.  Tickets at the door will be $25.

    The event will include a variety of breweries and wineries sampling their products along with food from local restaurants and live music by Kyle Mertz.
